General Tools:
SysInternals Process Explorer Specialty tool for looking up information on currently running processes.
SysInternals AutoRuns Needs Description
Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 (XP, Vista, Vista64), used to use MSI and MSU update packages.
SafeMSI Allows the Windows Installer Service to run in Safe Mode, allowing MSIs to work
Microsoft Installer (MSI) Cleanup Utility Used to forcefully remove MSI packages that do not want to uninstall properly.
Microsoft Debugging Toolkit Used to analyze dump files, usually as a result of Blue Screens of Death
Upper and Lower Filters Reset Used to fix problems with reading or writing optical disks after authoring software has been installed, removed or corrupted. (Batch Reboots Computer)
Alex Feinman’s ISO Recorder (XPSP2, XP64, Vista, Vista64) Free ISO burner for ISO images. Supports many platforms.
Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Used to open Microsoft Office 2007 formats in Office 2003.
Lexmark Printer Dependency Fix Used to fix dependencies for the spooler service after a Lexmark printer was installed.
Mike Lin’s Startup Control Panel Used as an alternate to MSConfig to deal with startup programs. Easy to use.

Uninstallers:
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller Used to clean up and uninstall Adobe Flash player

Hardware Diagnostic Tools:
GWScan 5.12 Gateway Hard Drive diagnostic utility, used to determine if hard drive is good if OS is unavailable and to repair the drive if failing.
Memtest86+ 2.01 Memory testing utility; LiveCD.
CPU-Z 1.52 Used to find out information about motherboard, CPU and RAM in a computer.

Operating Systems:
Desktop Ubuntu Linux 8.04.1 Useful to get into a machine if the machine does not work or wish to install a new operating system; has Memtest86+ 1.70; LiveCD.

Codec Pack:
Combined Community Codec Pack A package of common codecs for playing audio and video files. Works with XviD, DivX and allows DVDs to play.

DirectX:
Microsoft DirectX Runtime (August 2008) Installation for DirectX, required for the above Codec pack and many visual elements.

Registry Change to Allow Windows Task Manager:
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f (Batch Forces it open)
