But I’m wondering, can I actualy do it and mean it?
In recent news, this morning in fact, I nailed Bard 37. If you’re keeping up with me, that’s the last in my recent blitz for jobs to sub on my White Mage.
I mean, it’s an impressive list sofar. White Mage/Paladin, Red Mage, Black Mage, Warrior, Ninja, Summoner, Thief, Bard and Dark Knight. All this is for a total of 506 Job levels. It didn’t seem like much on screen untill I added them all together, but that’s a nutty figure to me. Of course, there are some people out there who have upwards of 1000 job levels, but figure it this way, they probably have been playing this game way longer than I have.
And thinking about where I want to go next I decided hey, let’s bring some of my other jobs I’ve wanted to level for a long time back up. So I have seven jobs anywhere from level 1 (Blue Mage) to 18 (Monk) to bring up out of the dunes. And the second I concived the idea I felt pretty good about it. I mean, it’s not really a rare accomplishment, but the thought of being out of that hellhole forever (or untill SE releases new jobs again) was very appealing. But if my math is right I have 52 job levels to obtain to get there.
So where to start? Why not the hardest one of them all? Blue Mage. If you think Blue Mage was easy, consider it this way. I’ve been rather spoiled with money. All my other jobs all I have to do is walk up to the Auction House or a Vendor, buy a scroll or music sheet and learn the spell. No biggie. But to go out and kill a bunch of mobs to learn the magic that will be come my defining staple? That’s not my typical style. But lately I’ve felt the need to get away from parties. I need to play by myself some. Granted, it’s a very lonely and boring process to learn all this magic (and I’ve already decided that Metallic Body sucks), but it’s given me some time to stop worrying about five or seventeen other people. (Now that I’m writing this, I need to make some extra userpages to check off my Blue Magics I’m learning. I think I’m going to steal from Ganiman here.)
Well, it’s been an okay process sofar, I think. I’ve gone through about 10 Rollanberry Pies (most from dying), have all my staple spells up to 12 (Head Butt is missing here) and am almost ready to head over to Bastok for Head Butt and Sprout Smack. Before I go I want to get Feather Storm and Bludgeon (An extremely essential spell).
So what is it that I’ve wanted to say? I have every job subbable. I figure, why not. If I ever take up any job I’ll officialy never have a gimped sub job. It will be a long and drawn process, not to mention expensive, but I am up to the challenge. It may not be a Maat’s cap, but it will be enough to satisfy me.
